I'm originally from Grand Falls, Newfoundland. I moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba for university and ended up spending 17 wonderful years there. In late 2013 an opportunity came up to relocate to Fredericton and we (my wife & I) relocated to Fredericton. Since moving here, I have gotten engaged in my community through a variety of ways - District Education Council (Anglophone West School District), United Way, Christopher Leadership Course. Seeking to run for Fredericton City Council seemed like a natural next step for me
Expertise
My educational background which includes a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree has provided me a strong analytical and research base to operate from. Additionally, I also possess a Certified Professional Accountant (C.G.A. / C.P.A.) designation. This mix of education allows me to bring a strong foundation of political studies, financial management, and human resources to the position.
Leadership
With a work history in the government and post-secondary sectors, along with board experience with the Anglophone West District Education Council, the City of Fredericton’s Shared Risk Pension Plan, and multiple not-for-profit organizations I have a strong background to draw upon in terms of knowledge of government operations, education, regulatory environments, governance models and fiduciary responsibilities.
Engagement
I will be running to be the Fredericton City Councillor for Ward 2. My desire to do so is not only to become more active through community engagement but also to be the voice for all the members of my community. If you have any inquiries or would like to discuss your thoughts around my candidacy, Ward 2 or Fredericton City Council in general, please reach out to me
